I took the overnight train to Cornwall from Paddington in the summer, one of my favourite journeys. I love waking up to see the sun rising over the rolling hills and the promise of the Cornish coastline ahead. I went to the bar on the train for a night cap and the train stopped at Reading for a few minutes, enough time for me to draw the deserted platform through the window.
